What the calculators do with your inputs

Everything you type into a calculator is processed by JavaScript in your own browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us. To make results easy to share, the calculators write your inputs into the page address (for example ?rate=18&in0=09:00). Times and rates like these don't identify you, but because page addresses are recorded by our analytics (see below), please don't type names or other personal information into the fields.

The time card calculators also save your entries in your browser's local storage, so they're still there when you come back. That data stays on your device; we can't see it. The Reset button deletes it, and so does clearing your browser's site data.

Information we collect

We don't ask you to create an account and we don't collect names, addresses or payment details. We collect usage statistics through Google Analytics, described below. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to learn which pages and calculators people use, how they find the site and whether pages load and work properly. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, the address of the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, screen size, language, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address) and how long you stay. Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site, and we don't use it to identify you or for advertising.

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that let it tell new visits from returning ones. They last up to two years. We don't set any advertising cookies.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: analytics cookies are off by default. Unless you give consent, Google Analytics doesn't set or read cookies on your device and receives only basic, cookieless signals that can't be used to recognize you across visits.

To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators keep working without them.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by a third-party hosting provider. Like any web server, it may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. That processing is governed by the hosting provider's own privacy policy.

Our pages sometimes link to government agencies and other sites. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and isn't directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example in the EU, the UK or California — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to its processing. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. To exercise these rights, email hello@workhourmath.com.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If we add advertising or other services that use cookies, we'll update this policy before the change takes effect and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
